1. OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCESSIBILITY
1.1 Astralway is committed to making its website and digital services as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible.
1.2 We want people to be able to access, understand and use Astralway regardless of disability, impairment, assistive technology or the way in which they access the internet.
1.3 Astralway is operated by:
Beauty & Wellbeing Education Ltd
Company number: 14736945

2. OUR APPROACH
2.1 Accessibility is an ongoing process rather than a one-time exercise.
2.2 We aim to consider accessibility when:
(a) designing new pages and features;
(b) updating existing functionality;
(c) selecting colours, typography and visual elements;
(d) creating forms;
(e) developing navigation;
(f) publishing images and other content;
(g) introducing AI-powered functionality;
(h) designing reports and personalised content;
(i) selecting third-party technology; and
(j) testing Astralway across devices and screen sizes.
3. ACCESSIBILITY STANDARD
3.1 We aim to use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as the principal technical accessibility benchmark for Astralway.
3.2 WCAG provides internationally recognised guidance for making digital content more:
(a) perceivable;
(b) operable;
(c) understandable; and
(d) robust.
3.3 Using WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our benchmark does not mean that every part of Astralway will necessarily meet every WCAG success criterion at all times.
3.4 We aim to identify and address material accessibility barriers as the platform develops.
4. ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES
4.1 Where reasonably practicable, Astralway aims to support:
(a) keyboard navigation;
(b) logical heading structures;
(c) meaningful page titles;
(d) appropriately labelled forms;
(e) meaningful labels for buttons and links;
(f) alternative text for informative images;
(g) sufficient colour contrast;
(h) readable typography;
(i) text resizing and browser zoom;
(j) clear focus indicators;
(k) understandable error messages;
(l) consistent navigation;
(m) responsive layouts;
(n) use with commonly used assistive technologies; and
(o) access across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
5. KEYBOARD ACCESS
5.1 We aim for important functionality to be usable without requiring a mouse or touchscreen where reasonably practicable.
5.2 This includes consideration of:
(a) navigation;
(b) forms;
(c) buttons;
(d) links;
(e) menus;
(f) account functionality;
(g) AI chat controls;
(h) subscription controls; and
(i) other interactive elements.
5.3 Keyboard focus should remain visible so that users can understand which interactive element is currently selected.
6. SCREEN READERS AND ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY
6.1 We aim to structure Astralway so that content can be interpreted appropriately by commonly used screen readers and other assistive technology.
6.2 This includes appropriate use of:
(a) semantic HTML;
(b) headings;
(c) labels;
(d) accessible names;
(e) alternative text; and
(f) appropriate status or error information.
7. TEXT AND ZOOM
7.1 We aim to allow users to enlarge text or zoom pages using standard browser functionality without unnecessary loss of content or functionality.
7.2 Where possible, important information should not depend upon extremely small text.
8. COLOUR AND CONTRAST
8.1 Astralway uses a distinctive visual identity, but visual design should not unnecessarily prevent people from accessing information.
8.2 We aim to maintain appropriate contrast between important text and its background.
8.3 Information should not rely upon colour alone where doing so would create a material accessibility barrier.
9. IMAGES
9.1 Informative images should have appropriate text alternatives where reasonably required.
9.2 Decorative images may be configured so that they do not create unnecessary interruption for screen-reader users.
9.3 Where text is essential to understanding information, we aim not to rely solely upon text embedded within an image.
10. FORMS
10.1 Astralway contains forms and interactive functionality.
10.2 We aim for forms to:
(a) use clear labels;
(b) provide understandable instructions;
(c) identify required information;
(d) provide useful error messages;
(e) allow errors to be corrected;
(f) be usable by keyboard where reasonably practicable; and
(g) work appropriately with assistive technology.
11. BIRTH INFORMATION AND CHART CREATION
11.1 Some Astralway functionality requires users to enter information such as:
(a) date of birth;
(b) time of birth; and
(c) place of birth.
11.2 We aim to make these controls understandable and accessible.
11.3 Where a user experiences difficulty entering the information required to create a chart, they may contact us for assistance.
12. ASK ASTRALWAY AND AI FEATURES
12.1 Astralway includes or may include conversational AI functionality.
12.2 We aim for AI interfaces to provide accessible:
(a) text entry;
(b) buttons and controls;
(c) generated responses;
(d) navigation;
(e) status information; and
(f) error information.
12.3 AI-generated content may occasionally create unexpected formatting or other accessibility issues.
12.4 Users are encouraged to report such problems so that they can be investigated.
13. PERSONALISED REPORTS
13.1 Astralway may provide personalised digital reports.
13.2 We aim for reports displayed through Astralway to be presented in a readable and accessible format where reasonably practicable.
13.3 If you purchase or receive a report and experience an accessibility barrier that prevents you from using it, please contact us.
13.4 Where reasonably practicable, we will consider whether the information can be provided in an appropriate alternative format.
14. FORECASTS AND PERSONALISED CONTENT
14.1 Forecasts and other personalised content should be presented in a way that does not rely unnecessarily upon visual characteristics alone.
14.2 Where graphs, diagrams or other visual representations contain important information, we will consider appropriate text alternatives or supporting explanation where reasonably practicable.
15. VIDEO AND AUDIO
15.1 If Astralway introduces material video or audio content, accessibility requirements will be considered as part of implementation.
15.2 Depending upon the nature of the content, this may include:
(a) captions;
(b) transcripts;
(c) text alternatives; or
(d) other appropriate accessibility measures.
16. ANIMATION AND MOTION
16.1 Astralway may use animation or visual effects as part of its design.
16.2 We aim to avoid unnecessary effects that could materially interfere with accessibility.
16.3 Where significant animation or motion is introduced, appropriate accessibility considerations should form part of its design and testing.
17. FLASHING CONTENT
17.1 Astralway does not intend to use content designed to flash rapidly in a manner known to create unnecessary accessibility or health risks.
17.2 Any future animated content should be reviewed with this in mind.
18. MOBILE ACCESSIBILITY
18.1 Astralway is intended to work across modern mobile devices as well as desktop computers.
18.2 Mobile accessibility considerations include:
(a) readable text;
(b) appropriately sized controls;
(c) responsive layouts;
(d) sufficient spacing;
(e) orientation and screen-size behaviour;
(f) accessible forms; and
(g) compatibility with relevant device accessibility functionality.
19. THIRD-PARTY CONTENT AND SERVICES
19.1 Astralway uses third-party technology and services.
19.2 Certain third-party elements may not be entirely controlled by Beauty & Wellbeing Education Ltd.
19.3 These may include, for example:
(a) payment functionality;
(b) embedded technology;
(c) authentication functionality;
(d) cookie-management technology; or
(e) other third-party services.
19.4 We will consider accessibility when selecting and configuring material third-party services where reasonably practicable.
20. ACCESSIBILITY AND PAYMENTS
20.1 We aim for the journey from selecting a paid Astralway product through to payment to be accessible.
20.2 Where payment functionality is provided by a third-party payment provider, some elements of that experience may be controlled by that provider.
20.3 If you experience an accessibility problem that prevents you from completing a purchase, please contact us.
21. ACCESSIBILITY AND ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
21.1 We aim for important Account-management functionality to be accessible.
21.2 This includes, where available:
(a) Account settings;
(b) subscription management;
(c) subscription cancellation;
(d) privacy controls;
(e) deletion controls; and
(f) other important Account actions.
21.3 If an accessibility barrier prevents you from performing an important Account action, please contact us and we will consider an appropriate alternative way of assisting you.
22. REASONABLE ADJUSTMENTS
22.1 Beauty & Wellbeing Education Ltd recognises that disabled people may experience barriers that cannot always be anticipated through standard website design.
22.2 We will consider reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
22.3 Depending upon the circumstances, this may include:
(a) providing information in an alternative format;
(b) assisting with access to information;
(c) providing an alternative method of communication;
(d) assisting with an Account or service process; or
(e) another reasonable adjustment appropriate to the circumstances.
23. REQUESTING AN ALTERNATIVE FORMAT
23.1 If you require information available through Astralway in a different format because of an accessibility need, please contact us.
23.2 Tell us:
(a) the information you need;
(b) the format that would help you;
(c) the accessibility difficulty you are experiencing, if you are comfortable explaining it; and
(d) how you would prefer us to contact you.
23.3 We will consider the request and what it is reasonable for us to provide.
24. KNOWN LIMITATIONS
24.1 Astralway is an evolving digital platform.
24.2 We cannot guarantee that every page, feature, third-party integration or item of dynamically generated content will be completely free from accessibility barriers.
24.3 In particular, dynamically generated AI content and third-party technology may occasionally behave in unexpected ways.
24.4 Where we identify a material accessibility issue, we aim to assess it and determine an appropriate response.
25. ACCESSIBILITY TESTING
25.1 Accessibility should form part of Astralway's development and testing process.
25.2 Testing may include a combination of:
(a) automated accessibility testing;
(b) manual testing;
(c) keyboard testing;
(d) responsive/mobile testing;
(e) colour-contrast testing;
(f) screen-reader or assistive-technology testing where appropriate; and
(g) user feedback.
25.3 Automated accessibility tools alone cannot identify every accessibility problem.
26. DEVELOPMENT OF NEW FEATURES
26.1 Accessibility should be considered when introducing significant new functionality.
26.2 This is particularly relevant to:
(a) new Account features;
(b) new AI functionality;
(c) new report formats;
(d) new interactive charts;
(e) Marketplace functionality;
(f) new payment journeys; and
(g) major design changes.
27. ASTRALWAY MARKETPLACE
27.1 Astralway intends to introduce Marketplace functionality in the future.
27.2 Accessibility should form part of the design of the Marketplace before launch.
27.3 This should include consideration of:
(a) practitioner profiles;
(b) search and navigation;
(c) booking;
(d) payments;
(e) communication;
(f) cancellation and rescheduling; and
(g) accessibility information relevant to services offered.
28. REPORTING AN ACCESSIBILITY PROBLEM
28.1 We welcome reports of accessibility problems.
28.2 If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact:
contact@ljwellbeing.co.uk
28.3 Where possible, please tell us:
(a) the page or feature concerned;
(b) what you were trying to do;
(c) what went wrong;
(d) the device and browser you were using, if relevant; and
(e) any assistive technology involved, if you are comfortable providing that information.
28.4 This information can help us investigate the issue.
29. ACCESSIBILITY COMPLAINTS
29.1 If you are dissatisfied with the way an accessibility request or issue has been handled, you may make a complaint using Astralway's complaints process.
29.2 Accessibility complaints will be considered fairly and without discrimination.
30. PRIVACY
30.1 If you contact us about an accessibility requirement, you may choose to provide information concerning a disability or health condition.
30.2 You are not required to provide more information than is reasonably necessary for us to understand and respond to your request.
