FAQ
Is a 13 Moon “Moon” the same as an astronomical lunar month?
Each period in the modern 13 Moon calendar lasts exactly 28 days.
No.
The actual astronomical cycle from one New Moon to the next — known as the synodic month — lasts approximately 29.5 days.
This means the 28-day “Moons” are regular calendar divisions rather than exact measurements of the Moon's astronomical phases.
Astralway therefore distinguishes between:
the 13 Moon calendar
and
actual lunar timing such as New Moons, Full Moons and lunar phases.
Both can be useful within Astralway, but they represent different kinds of timing.
