FAQ
Is the 13 Moon calendar an ancient Maya calendar?
The modern 13 Moon calendar divides the year into thirteen equal 28-day periods, creating 364 structured days plus an additional day outside that pattern.
No.
Traditional Maya calendars include systems such as the:
Tzolk’in
Haab’
Calendar Round
and
Long Count.
The traditional Haab’, for example, contains eighteen 20-day periods plus a five-day Wayeb’ period. It is not a thirteen-month calendar.
Modern 13 Moon and Dreamspell frameworks draw on various calendrical and spiritual ideas, but Astralway does not present them as traditional ancient Maya calendars.
This is why Maya Calendars and 13 Moon & Cycles are separate sections within the Astralway Guides library.
