FAQ
What is a Nakshatra?
Nakshatras are the 27 principal lunar mansions used in Vedic astrology.
Each covers 13°20′ of the zodiac.
When someone refers to “your Nakshatra”, they often mean the Nakshatra occupied by the Moon at the moment of your birth, sometimes called your Janma Nakshatra or birth star.
Your Moon's Nakshatra adds a finer layer of information beyond its zodiac sign and is also important within Vedic timing systems.
In the widely used Vimshottari Dasha system, your Moon's birth Nakshatra helps determine the planetary period active when you are born.
